RJM Construction, a Minneapolis-based general contractor, began construction on a specialty expansion project at Fairview Northland Medical Center in Princeton, Minn., in early August.

The project includes a 25,500-square-foot two-story specialty building and a two-story hallway that will connect it to the existing hospital. The medical building will be complete by the end of December and ready for occupancy in the spring of 2015.

Fairview Northland Medical Center is part of Minneapolis-based Fairview Health Services. The full-service, 54-bed medical center has 120,000 patient visits a year, primarily from the communities of Milaca, Princeton, Zimmerman, Elk River, Rogers and St. Francis. The adjoining building will house cardiology, rehabilitation, infusion, orthopedics, imaging and primary care. The building features include metal and precast structural framing, exterior brick, metal panels and glass.

In addition to RJM Construction, project partners include Pope Architects, Loucks Associates and BKBM Engineers.
