Robert Click Senior Managing Director CBRE Columbus
Robert Click proved long ago that he could build an independent commercial real estate brokerage that not only succeeded, but thrived. Now he’s proving that he’s equally adept at running a brokerage office for one of the biggest names in the commercial real estate business.
Click helped grow the largest independently owned brokerage and property management firm in Columbus with Matthews Click & Associates. Click serves as executive vice president and co-chairman of that brokerage, one that was successful enough to attract the attention of industry giant CBRE.
In 1998, CBRE acquired the independent brokerage that Click had helped lead to success. At the time of the acquisition, Matthews Click & Associates boasted offices in Cincinnati and Dayton, Ohio, and Indianapolis and Charleston, W.Va.
Today, Click serves as senior managing director of the Columbus office of CBRE. His experience as a past owner of office, multi-family and hotel properties has served him well in this new position. He knows what the owners of these commercial properties face, what challenges they must overcome. And Click uses this knowledge to help his clients develop solutions to the most vexing of challenges.
Click’s associates have recognized him as one of the leaders of central Ohio’s commercial real estate industry. In 2005, he was the recipient of the NAIOP’s Lifetime Achievement Award, one of the highest honors that a commercial real estate professional can earn.
When he’s not leading the Columbus brokerage of CBRE, Click is volunteering his time to help strengthen the commercial real estate industry. He has served as president of the board of directors and member of the executive committee of the Institute of Real Estate Management. He’s also served this institute as a national senior vice president and chapter president.
Outside of the real estate industry, Click hasn’t been shy about donating his time. For instance, he is a 20-year board member of the Columbus Cancer Clinic and an executive committee board member of Lifecare Alliance of Ohio.
