Roers Companies and its project partners — including Kaas Wilson Architects and Bauer Design Build — recently broke ground on the firm’s first development in the Twin Cities suburb of Lakeville, Minnesota. The $41.5 million multifamily apartment building, Northlake Lofts, broke ground on Sept. 21 and is expected to be completed in the spring of 2022.
Northlake Lofts is a market-rate development with 208 apartments ranging in size from studios to three-bedrooms. The amenity-rich community will offer renters a coffee bar, fitness center with group fitness space, pool, rooftop patio, community lounge, game room, dog run, pet spa, private dining room, designated work-from-home spaces and a sports simulator.
The property sits near I-35W and 185th Street in the Timbercrest district, a mixed-use, pedestrian-friendly development near grocers, restaurants, coffee shops and retail stores. Northlake’s proximity to I-35W will help provide an easy commute to residents working in nearby suburbs and both downtown business districts.
The development team selected the location because of the growth in the area and its high occupancy trend in existing apartment rentals. Lakeville is the second-fastest-growing suburb in the Twin Cities metro area, with a population of about 63,000 and low vacancy in its existing apartments.
Leasing for Northlake Lofts will begin in late 2021.
