More than 1,800 industry professionals made their way to the Hyatt Regency Chicago March 10 for one of the city’s most anticipated awards nights of the year, the 28th Annual Chicago Commercial Real Estate Awards, benefiting the Greater Chicago Food Depository.
A Blue Ribbon Panel presented a total of 18 awards to the industry’s top architects, brokers, contractors, design professionals, developers, project managers, and property representatives of 2015.
The 28th Annual Chicago Commercial Real Estate Awards Dinner is expected to raise more than $1.2 million for the Food Depository’s work that makes a daily impact on hunger throughout Cook County.
With a total of $110,000 collected, Sterling Bay won The Brown Bag Challenge for its second consecutive year.
Over its history, the event has raised more than $15 million for hunger relief in the community.
Food Depository Executive Director and CEO Kate Maehr, said the industry’s support enables the Food Depository to provide food and hope for more than 812,000 of our hungry neighbors each year.
Mariah DiGrino of DLA Piper chaired the Blue Ribbon Panel, which is made up of past event chairs, former award winners, representatives from Chicago-area real estate associations and several at-large members of the Chicago real estate community who are appointed on an annual, rotating basis. Chloe Reaumond of Sterling Bay served as Event Chair and Jaime Kishel of Cushman & Wakefield served as Vice Chair.
In addition to the annual awards, this year’s Special Achievement of the Year award honored the three projects that impacted the city: Maggie Daley Park, The 606 and UI Labs.
The event is presented by Associated Bank and the media sponsor is Crain’s Chicago Business. Ventas sponsored the committee reception, Clayco sponsored the cocktail reception, The Telos Group sponsored the Brown Bag Challenge and Skender Foundation sponsored the after party. Corey McPherrin of Fox 32 Chicago served as master of ceremonies.
