In what has become an annual event, Illinois Real Estate Journal will be hosting an inside look at the senior housing market in Chicago and across the country on Wednesday, Dec. 5 at the University Club of Chicago.
For at least three years the publication has produced a conference to talk about timely trends, issues and challenges facing the senior housing market, one of the most active sectors of commercial real estate development, management and investing.
The regular program of panel discussions will kick off just after 8 a.m. with a keynote presentation by Manisha Bathija, a senior regional investment advisor with Ventas Inc., one of the largest healthcare real estate investment trusts in the country. The company actively manages and acquires senior housing projects throughout the U.S.
Following Bathija’s presentation there will be three general session panels that will delve into the current state of the market, the design, development and construction of senior housing projects and investment in this product category. In addition to local players, the conference will draw from the national experts.
Confirmed speakers for the conference include Jim Keledjian, Pathway Senior Living; Mark Myers, Marcus & Millichap; Chris Huecksteadt, Metrostudy; Frank Muraca, ARCH Consultants; Chris McGraw, National Investment Center; Joe Segobiano, Hudson Burnham Development Partners; Jerry DeCicco, Joseph Duffy Co.; Scott Likins, BLDD Architects; Rod Vickroy, Gensler; Jeff Davis, Cambridge; Jake Gehl, Marcus & Millichap; David Watkins, HEITMAN; and Michael Monticello, Private Bank.
The University Club of Chicago is located at 76 E. Monroe, just west of Michigan Avenue.
The registration for the conference, which officially begins at 7 a.m. with a continental breakfast and networking with peers and sponsors, is $79. People can register at www.rejournals.comconferences.
