Matthew H. Johnson | Principal Matt Johnson is the New Structural Design Practice Leader for SGH and Structural Engineering Division Head for SGH’s Chicago office. He leads a team of engineers in the structural design and rehabilitation of buildings, the design of structurally complex building enclosures; and the design of non-traditional structures, including structured landscapes, temporary installations, and public art projects. Matt pushes forward the agenda of design value for clients with an approach that is both cross disciplinary and innovative. Matt is a licensed professional engineer in twenty-six states and three Canadian provinces.
Peter M. Babaian | Associate Principal Peter Babaian is the Building Technology Division Head for SGH’s Chicago office and leads the Building Enclosure Commissioning Practice at SGH. His experience includes designing, investigating, and rehabilitating a variety of building enclosures and structures. His specialties are exterior enclosure consulting on new construction, rehabilitation of existing structures, historic preservation, and building enclosure commissioning. Peter is active professionally, including his membership in the Technical Activities Committee of The Masonry Society (TMS). Peter is a licensed professional and structural engineer in Illinois and a professional engineer in sixteen other states.
Terrence R. McDonnell | Associate Principal Terry McDonnell has over eighteen years of structural engineering experience in a variety of areas, including long-span structures; non-traditional building materials, such as structural glass and Ethylene Tetrafluoroethylene (ETFE); adaptive reuse; and building investigations. As a project leader, Terry stresses holistic problem solving. He is currently the president of the Structural Engineers Association of Illinois (SEAOI) and a member of the Chicago High Rise Committee. Terry is a licensed professional and structural engineer in Illinois and a professional engineer in eighteen other states and two Canadian Provinces.
Neal S. Anderson | Staff Consultant Neal Anderson has over twenty-five years of experience investigating and rehabilitating vintage structural steel construction and reinforced and precast/prestressed concrete structures, including structural building frames, bridges, plazas, slabs-on-grade, historic steel construction, and parking decks. Neal is a Precast/Prestressed Concrete Institute (PCI) member, a member of the American Concrete Institute’s (ACI) 318 Structural Building Code Committee, and chair of ACI 318B – Anchorage and Reinforcement. He is a licensed professional and structural engineer in Illinois and several other Midwestern states.
