Members of The Chicago Chapter of the Society of Industrial & Office Realtors (SIOR) have donated in record numbers, making possible 30 trunk scholarships as part of the Ada S. McKinley College-Bound Trunk Scholarship program for 2020.

The scholarships are provided to students typically from the West and South Sides of Chicago. Each scholarship winner is selected based on an essay contest and a demonstration of financial need.

2020 marks the tenth year of the Chapter’s support of this worthwhile charitable initiative. Each trunk is valued at $500, for a total donation of $15,000 from SIOR Chicago.

New laptops, earbuds and backpacks are in the trunks, along with more traditional school and dorm room supplies. In response to the COVID-19 pandemic, the trunks were modified this year to prepare first-year college students for remote learning and include access to online tutoring.
