SmithGroupJJR adds Tony LoBello as learning studio leader at Chicago office

SmithGroupJJR, one of the nation’s largest architecture, engineering and planning firms, has hired Tony LoBello, AIA, LEED AP, as Learning Studio Leader at its Chicago office. He joins SmithGroupJJR from Gensler, Chicago, where he was education leader.

In his new role at SmithGroupJJR, LoBello is focusing on continued development of the office’s higher education portfolio, leveraging his experience in delivering quality educational spaces along with his commitment to partnering with clients, consultants, builders and institutions.

LoBello has over 20 years of experience as an architect and business development strategist. A veteran project manager, he teams with both local and national clients to facilitate the design process, stakeholder engagement, consensus-building, cost management and execution of complex design efforts. Past clients include the University of Chicago, Southern Illinois University and the University of Illinois at Chicago.
