Southfield, Michigan-based REDICO appointed Chris Haboian as Vice President of Leasing and Corporate Counsel effective Aug, 11.

Haboian brings more than 11 years of real estate and legal experience to the role, having previously served as REDICO’s leasing counsel. In his new position, he will lead the leasing team, negotiate and execute lease agreements, and manage corporate legal strategy.

Haboian holds a 2014 Juris Doctor from the University of Maryland Carey School of Law and graduated in 2011 with a Bachelor of Arts in business administration and management from Wake Forest University.

While he was still attending law school, he began working at The Cordish Companies out of Baltimore, where he gained valuable knowledge in large projects such as hotels, casinos, apartments and sports arenas. Driven to learn the business from the inside out after completing law school, he joined Taft Law (formerly Jaffee Raitt Heuer & Weiss) as an associate, later becoming a partner.

Haboian worked extensively on REDICO and American House real estate matters, including leasing, acquisitions, development and financing. He broadened his scope in real estate development as in-house counsel with Sunrise Land Group, the residential development representative for Sun Communities.
