St. Louis-area’s Wiegmann Associates celebrates 25th anniversary

Wiegmann Associates, a mechanical contractor based in the St. Louis region, is celebrating its 25th anniversary.

Wiegmann Associates has now engineered and installed more than $1 billion in commercial HVAC projects across 42 states.

Headquartered in St. Charles, Missouri, Wiegmann employs more than 110 engineers, project managers, building automation specialists, HVAC service technicians and administrative staff.

Gerry Wiegmann established Wiegmann Associates in 1995 and the firm quickly grew through national partnerships and recurring projects with major brands like Anheuser-Busch, Sara Lee, Ball Corporation, Metal Container Corp and Surg Center as well as many local and national general contractors. Through these lasting relationships, Wiegmann developed strong niches in multiple industries, including senior living, food and beverage distribution, warehouse, healthcare, commercial, student housing, multi-family and industrial.

As Anheuser-Busch’s HVAC strategic partner for more than 10 years, Wiegmann executed more than $85 million in work that saved in excess of $120 million in energy costs during that time.

“If you are just project focused rather than customer focused, your job is to get the project installed, get paid and that’s that,” said Gerry Wiegmann. “We take a more long-term focus to make sure the client is happy with their system even if that means going back and resolving developments long after other contractors would move on.”

Wiegmann Associates is in its second generation of leadership. Gerry Wiegmann continues to serve as chief executive officer. His son, Chad Wiegmann, is president. Grant Wiegmann is director of pre-construction and business development.

Wiegmann Associates doubled the size of its HVAC service team in 2018 with the acquisition of SystemAire. This made Wiegmann Associates one of the largest commercial heating and cooling service providers in the St. Louis region.

Wiegmann has installed complex, energy-efficient HVAC systems for some of St. Louis’ most high-profile projects, including the historic renovations of Soldier’s Memorial Military Museum and St. Louis Central Library and the construction of St. Louis’ National Archives and Records Administration facility.

Their team recently completed St. Louis’ new Amazon Fulfillment Center and is currently working on local projects at the VA Medical Center, Brentwood School District, Lindbergh High School, multiple conditioned warehouse facilities and a major corporate headquarters in Downtown St. Louis.
