St. Louis-based McCarthy Holdings names chief administrative officer

Justin McFarland

McCarthy Holdings, Inc. in St. Louis has promoted Justin McFarland to chief administrative officer.

In this role, he will oversee a variety of McCarthy’s corporate departments, including Diversity, Equity and Inclusion, Information Technology, Innovation and Marketing Communications. He will also champion culture and drive collaboration and consistency for the broader corporate team.

McFarland joined McCarthy in 2016 as vice president, information systems, overseeing the firm’s companywide IT function. In this role, he created and implemented a strategic vision for technology, building a high performing national technology team and supporting the growing business. In 2019 he was promoted to senior vice president, information systems and in 2020 to executive vice president, information systems, joining the company’s Enterprise Leadership Team. In 2022, McFarland was recognized as the St. Louis ORBIE CIO of the Year for his achievements. 

Along with his McCarthy responsibilities, McFarland is active in a variety of civic and charitable organizations. He currently serves as an advisory board member of St.LouisCIO and is an honorary advisor for the STL Gateway to Innovation. A passionate champion for mentoring young talent, McFarland also serves as a St. Louis advisory board member of NPower, an organization dedicated to supporting military veterans and young adults from underserved communities, and as a sponsor of the Project Interface internship program with the Rockwood School District.

McFarland earned both his bachelor’s degree and MBA from Washington University in St. Louis.
