The St. Louis Chapter of IFMA, the International Facility Managers Association, celebrated the holiday season by presenting a check for $1,000 to Heat Up St. Louis.
James Delgado, chapter president, presented the check to Dennis Jenkerson, fire chief for the St. Louis Fire Department, who represented Heat Up St. Louis. The non-profit organization builds awareness and provides resources to help those in need, especially the elderly and disabled and needy families with critically ill children, avoid illnesses and deaths during the region’s bitter winter season.
Additionally, IFMA St. Louis members donated more than 100 warm-weather items during the chapter’s annual holiday celebration on Dec. 3. Blankets and adult clothing were donated to Places for People, which provides programs, services and resources for people who have serious mental illnesses that often lead to chronic homelessness.
Warm-weather clothing for children was given to the Little Bit Foundation, an organization that works with under-served youth in St. Louis schools to break down the barriers that keep them from getting a quality education.
