St. Louis’ McCarthy Holdings names director of sustainability

St. Louis’ McCarthy Holdings, Inc. has hired Ian Pope as director of sustainability.

In this role, Pope will oversee McCarthy’s national sustainability program as part of McCarthy’s corporate social responsibility commitment, including overall strategy, reporting and implementation across the company’s jobsites and offices.

Pope joins McCarthy with more than a decade of climate and circularity experience. Prior to his role with McCarthy, he served in a variety of leadership roles at WM, formerly Waste Management, one of the nation’s leading providers of comprehensive environmental solutions.

Recently, Pope was senior manager, sustainability, serving as a key leader in strategy development and implementation, ESG and sustainability reporting, and working with cross-functional teams on topics ranging from electrification and materials recovery to environmental justice and sustainability education.

Pope earned his B.S. in Business Administration from SUNY Fredonia and MBA with a focus on Sustainability from Wilmington University. He completed GRI Certified Training and is a U.S. Green Building Council LEED Green Associate.
