St. Pius V School in St. Louis to undergo apartment conversion

Hilliker Corporation recently sold a parish school that will be redeveloped into apartments.

Built in 1917, the former St. Pius V School will be converted into a project that includes 25 apartments.  Renovations will begin mid-October with a completion date set for late spring 2017.

The 25,000-square-foot school building, which is located at 3522 Utah St. in the Tower Grove area, will be redeveloped into 21 one-bedroom and four two-bedroom units that range in size from 600 to 1,000 square feet.

The property will feature a dog run area, outdoor patio, and gated parking and will retain much of the building’s history by preserving the school’s slate chalkboards, existing millwork, and plaster details.

Hilliker Corporation’s Hal Ball and Peter Newton, along with broker Linda Wash, represented the seller, the St. Louis City Catholic Church.  Realty Exchange Commercial Group’s agent Ken Wedberg represented the buyer, 3530 Utah, LLC.
