Stahl will break ground this month on the 101,403-square-foot Ankeny Elementary School in the Prairie Trail development in Ankeny, Iowa. The $18 million construction project will provide the Ankeny Community School District with its 11th elementary school.
The building will feature several windows, filling the school with natural light and creating an open learning environment for students.
The new elementary school will hold 750 students ranging from kindergarten through fifth grade. The facility was proposed by district officials due to consistent growth in the area by about 400 students a year.
Construction is expected to be completed by May 2020, in time for the 2020 – 2021 school year.
