Stahl was awarded the construction management contract for the new Ankeny Elementary School located in the Prairie Trail development in Ankeny, Iowa. Construction of the $20 million, single-story, 101,403-square-foot elementary school will begin March 2019.
District officials proposed the 11th elementary school for the Ankeny Community School District because of recent and consistent growth in the area by about 400 students per year. The new school will have capacity for 750 students ranging in age from kindergarten through fifth grade.
Stahl will provide pre-construction and construction management services and work alongside frk architects + engineers to build the new state-of-the-art school. The elementary school is expected to be completed by June 2020, in time for the 2020 – 2021 school year.
Funding for the school came from an $18 million bond referendum approved by the community in February 2018.
