Independent School District 728, which serves Elk River, Rogers, Otsego and Zimmerman, Minnesota, has expanded its partnership with Stahl to strategically build equitable access to 21st Century learning environments throughout the district.
As construction manager, Stahl, along with the district, will be working together toward accomplishing several construction goals in the next five years.
The program of projects to be managed by Stahl includes the new Prairie View Middle School, addition at Rogers High School, addition and renovation at Zimmerman Middle/High School, renovations at VandenBerge Middle School and improvements at the Elk River High School Stadium.
Work at Prairie View Middle School, Rogers High School, Zimmerman Middle/High School and Elk River High School Stadium is underway with work scheduled to begin in the coming weeks at VandenBerge Middle School. Updates at the schools will address the indoor physical education and outdoor athletic facilities and building maintenance needs district-wide to ultimately create more flexible learning spaces.
Funding for the construction projects was approved by voters on Nov. 5, 2019, in the $113 million bond referendum and will address the growing enrollment, improve equity and access to quality learning environments throughout the district, and help protect the community’s investment in schools.
ISD 728 selected Wold Architects and Engineers as the design partner for the program of projects.
Stahl has worked with ISD 728 since 2014 on a number of projects, including the Prairie View Elementary and Middle School, the addition at Prairie View Elementary and Middle School, the addition at Elk River High School, the addition at Zimmerman Middle/High School, and the early childcare facility in Elk River.
Construction for the new Prairie View Middle School is scheduled for completion in time for the 2022 – 2023 school year, with all construction projects planned for completion by the end of 2025.
