Sterling Bay announced that Echo Global Logistics and VSA Partners have both committed to 600 West Chicago, a landmark office and retail property located in the city’s River West submarket. Both companies will continue to operate in their respective on-site office spaces, making a statement on the need for maintaining high-quality, employee-centric office spaces in a post-pandemic environment.
Purchased by Sterling Bay in 2018 and repositioned into the modern classic it is today, 600 West Chicago is a mixed-use development rich in cultural and architectural history. Its grand concrete structure, revolutionary for its time, stands proud as a certified historic landmark along the North Branch of the Chicago River and offers tenants the opportunity to create a customized office experience with access to a variety of recreational and retail amenities, including a 7,500-square-foot roof deck overlooking the Chicago skyline and on-site operators like AmazonGo, The Farehouse Market and BIÂN, a private holistic health & social well-being club.
Echo Global Logistics will remain in 185,000 square feet at 600 W. Chicago, retaining its office space on behalf of the 1,600 professionals it employs across the city and in the building, it has called home since its inception in 2005.
VSA Partners, a tenant since 2008, restructured and rightsized its lease to 25,000 square feet.
Andrea VanGelder, Kellen Monti, Matt Carolan, and Paul Giannopulos of JLL represented Echo Global Logistics and Steven Livaditis and Jon Milonas of CBRE represented VSA Partners’ agreement. In both transactions, Russ Cora and Austin Lusson represented Sterling Bay.
