General contractor Summit Design + Build recently completed the demolition, expansion and build-out of J.A.B Produce Inc. located at 2404 S. Wolcott Avenue in Chicago.

J.A.B Produce, a wholesaler and distributor of fresh produce on the Chicago International Terminal Market, was created by owner Steve Serck almost two decades ago. Since sales are an integral part of the company’s success, J.A.B decided to demolish their previous sales space to make room for a new one. The expansion encompassed an adjacent condo unit to complete the build-out of a new 2,000-square-foot sales office space.

Summit also completed the construction of a 1,200-square-foot employee breakroom, three new bathrooms and all new MEP systems, totaling over 5,000 square feet for the project. Amstadter Architects served as the architect for the J.A.B Produce project.
