SVN | Chicago Commercial welcomes Julia Burnham as the newest member of the rapidly growing commercial real estate firm. Burnham joins SVN as a senior advisor, specializing in the sale and leasing of retail and office properties in Chicago’s North Shore. With more than 30 years of experience as a commercial real estate executive, Burnham has developed and implemented strategic plans for prime retail, office, and land assets. She has led property merchandising and positioning efforts, overseen multimillion-dollar renovations, and negotiated leases with many major retailers and anchors.
In 2012, Burnham founded Estate Lane Advisors to provide comprehensive real estate consulting and portfolio management services to commercial real estate investors, developers, and retailers. She previously served as a vice president and portfolio manager with JMB Realty Corporation for more than 24 years, where she was independently responsible for all aspects of significant portfolios and projects across the United States.
Her accomplishments include leading a retail remerchandising effort at Chicago’s 900 North Michigan Avenue, repositioning Houston’s West Oaks Mall to compete successfully with a new retail development, and initiating and directing a Toby award-winning $15 million renovation of the lobby and plaza at Houston’s First City Tower. She brings first-hand knowledge of retail strategies and priorities to her work, having owned and operated successful home furnishing and interior design stores in California, Massachusetts, and Illinois for ten years.
