SVN|Chicago broker closes sale of five-building portfolio in Fulton Market District

Scott Maesel, managing director of SVN|Chicago, was the sole broker in the sale of a five-building portfolio in the Fulton Market District in Chicago.

One of the few remaining meat packers in the district, Morreale Meats, has now moved out, selling its portfolio of five buildings. Thor Equities purchased the buildings for $36 million.

Part of the portfolio included a marquee property at the Northeast corner of Fulton and Green streets, directly across from The Publican and Brooklyn Bowl.

Morreale Meats is one of the oldest existing meat packers in Chicago, opening in 1920 when the company began selling meat by horse and carriage through the neighborhood. The sellers were the third owners of the company since it was founded.
