Deena Zimmerman, vice president at Sperry Van Ness (SVN) and 2016 vice chair of the Chicago Association of REALTORS‘CommercialForum, has been named 2017 NAR Commercial Liaison.
She will report to NAR leadership on actions and issues before the many commercial real estate-oriented committees, according to Illinois Association of REALTORS Director of Communications, Jon Broadbrooks, who shared the announcement.
At C.A.R, Zimmerman will continue to serve as the 2017 chair for the association’s CommercialForum. She is now the second consecutive Illinois REALTOR to hold this NAR role following Illinois REALTOR Dan Wagner of Inland Group who held the position last year.
Broadbrooks stated that a goal of Zimmerman’s during her time as liaison is to enhance the visibility of commercial realtors within NAR.
She received a 2012 National Commercial Award from NAR for her work promoting the commercial real estate industry, and C.A.R. has honored her with a REALTOR® Achievement Award.
In addition, Zimmerman serves on the Illinois REALTORS® NAR Involvement Subcommittee, the YPN Advisory Committee and the Commercial/Industrial/Investment Committee (which she chaired in 2013 and 2014), and stays active in REALTORS® to the Rescue, which aids homeless pets in the Chicago area..
Interestingly, she was also an SVN tenant rep during C.A.R.’s recent relocation to 430 N. Michigan.
