Minneapolis-based retailer, Target Corporation, has leased the entirety of Rock Creek Logistics Center in Joliet, Illinois. The Opus Group developed the 1.2 million-square-foot industrial logistics facility in the southwestern suburb of Chicago. Target plans to move into the property in November.
Located at 3300 Channahon Road, the facility features 36-foot clear height, 350 trailer positions, four drive-in doors, more than 400 parking stalls and 92 exterior dock doors. The building is less than one mile from I-80 and will provide easy access to the interstate via the Houbolt Road interchange.
Opus was the developer, design-builder and the architect and structural engineer of record. This was a joint venture partnership with AEW Capital Management. Traci Payette and Paige Rickert of CBRE represented Target and Steve Connolly and Eric Tresslar of NAI Hiffman represented the Landlord in this transaction.
“We’re thrilled to have a Fortune 100 company like Target occupy the building and this is a great addition to the city of Joliet,” said Mike Yungerman, senior vice president and general manager at Opus. In recent years, Opus has completed a number of industrial projects in the Chicago submarkets, including 1325 Remington, HELUKABEL, Paragon Business Park and oelheld U.S., Inc.
