The news wasn’t totally unexpected, but it still carried a shock: TCF Financial Corp. officially announced yesterday that it was leaving the TCF Tower in downtown Minneapolis and moving to the Plymouth Corporate Center in suburban Plymouth, Minn.
The move will send about downtown TCF Bank employees to the Plymouth location.
The good news is that TCF Bank is not planning any layoffs as part of the move. And the bank will retain its headquarters in Wayzata, Minn.
The bank’s departure will leave 319,000 square feet at the TCF Tower.
