The Opus Group on Sept. 16 began construction of IVY on Fourteenth, an 80-unit, 165-bed private student housing development near the campus of Marquette University in Milwaukee.
The six-story building is expected to open for the 2014 school year. IVY on Fourteenth will include such amenities as in-unit washers and dryers, indoor parking, a fitness center, study rooms and social areas.
The development will also incluce 7,500 square feet of ground-floor retail that will include a Subway restaurant.
Construction crews have already begun demolishing the building located at 1400 W. Wells St. that was formerly occupied by Kampus Foods, Sweeney’s books and a Subway restaurant.
