The Opus Group announced that Fiat Chrysler Automobiles (FCA) has signed a lease at 1325 Remington, a 112,049-square-foot building located in Carlow Corporate Center, an established business park in Bolingbrook, Illinois. The car manufacturer will occupy 25,523 square feet, using the space as a training facility for its employees.
Construction on 1325 Remington was completed in November 2016. Fiat Chrysler Automobiles will occupy their space beginning January 2020. Opus served as the developer, design-builder and architect, structural engineer and interior designer of record for the building. Jordan Decker and Chris Cobb with Cushman & Wakefield represented FCA, and Dominic DeRose, Vern Shultz and Charles Canale with Colliers International represented Opus in the leasing agreement.
“We’re thrilled to have Fiat Chrysler Automobiles as a long term tenant in our building,” said Josh Bauer, manager of real estate development at Opus. “This deal is a true example of the perseverance of our team to complete a transaction that meets the needs of FCA and its employees.”
Among the many features that attracted FCA to the property was its ideal location. Situated on nine acres in the I-55 industrial corridor, this project is just a half mile from Weber Road, a primary I-55 interchange with easy freeway access. In addition, the building includes desirable amenities and offered flexible space options for the new tenant, such as 28-foot clear height, up to 242 car parking spaces, three drive-in doors, 11 loading docks with room for expansion, state-of-the-art lighting systems and an ESFR fire sprinkler system.
