Todd Battle, President of the Kenosha Area Business Alliance (KABA) has been selected as a winner in the economic development profession’s 40 Under 40 awards, the only award of its kind recognizing young talent in the economic development profession.
A five-member selection committee chose the winners from a pool of more than 157 candidates based on their exceptional contributions to the economic development industry. The award’s program was managed by Development Counsellors International (DCI), a New York-based firm that specializes in economic development marketing.
“Kenosha County and KABA are very lucky to have Todd Battle and his leadership, professionalism, and energy. Todd has worked tirelessly with our partners to create an environment that businesses want to invest in,” remarked Frank Unick, Chief Financial Officer at Uline, Inc. and Chair of the KABA Board of Directors. “Under his leadership, Kenosha County has become a red-hot market for business expansion and relocation, bringing in more than 4,000 jobs, $800 million in capital investment, and seven million square feet of development in the last two years. He has also led efforts to revitalize Downtown Kenosha and expand Y-Link, Kenosha’s young professional organization. Y-Link is a key program in the effort to attract and retain talent.”
Todd Battle has been the President of KABA since joining the organization in April of 2004. In that role, Todd is responsible for managing the organization’s operations including economic and community development initiatives, a $30 million financing portfolio, and a foundation that funds area education initiatives including mentoring and college scholarships.
Todd was recognized by the Business Journal of Greater Milwaukee in 2011 as a member of its “40 under 40″ awards program, which recognizes young leaders that are making a difference in Southeast Wisconsin.
