Tom Turner

Tom Turner Executive Vice President Grandbridge Real Estate Capital Kansas City, Mo.

With 38 years worth of hands-on experience with commercial mortgages, Tom Turner knows how to succeed in real estate markets both strong and weak. Strong customer service, in-depth market knowledge and an ability to find creative solutions to the most difficult of financing challenges are the “secrets” that Turner has relied on to fashion a career that continues to thrive as it nears its fourth decade.

Turner, an executive vice president in the Kansas City, Mo., office of Grandbridge Real Estate Capital, has during this long career worked with nearly every major or significant developer in the Kansas City area. He has been involved in the financing of developments ranging from a few hundred thousand dollars to those costing hundreds of millions of dollars. He’s worked with government agencies, Wall Street players and a high percentage of the insurance companies involved in real estate finance.

A look at the developments in which Turner has played a part offer evidence of just how influential this industry veteran has been in his industry. He’s worked on the St. Luke’s Medical Plaza Office Complex, the Country Club Plaza, American Century Headquarters, the Black & Veatch building and the Leawood Town Center. He’s worked on the Lenexa Industrial Park, Hunt Midwest Underground and many of the buildings in Executive Park near Front Street and Interstate-435 in Kansas City.

Outside of mortgage financing, Turner has been influential, too. He’s currently serving on the board of trustees and is the chairman of the board for the University of Missouri — Kansas City. He’s also sitting on the board of directors of Country Club Bank and Reviving Baseball in the Inner City. He’s a member, too, of the Boys and Girls Clubs of Kansas City.

Turner has also held board positions with J.C. Nichols Company, City Bank of Kansas City, Children’s Therapeutic Learning Center and the American Royal Horse Show.
