It’s a definite sweet treat for Topeka: Mars Chocolate North America will break ground for a new manufacturing facility at the Kanza Fire Commerce Park in the city during an Aug. 23 ceremony.
The ground-breaking event marks the launch of the first phase of the project, during which Mars will invest more than $250 million and create about 200 full-time jobs.
The ground-breaking follows Mars’ recent announcement that it will invest in U.S. manufacturing to meet the growing demand for its candies, which, of course, include such well-known treats as M&Ms and SNICKERS.
