
Transwestern promoted Jim Montez and Kevin Salmen to Senior Vice President. Both are longtime team members of Transwestern’s Minneapolis office, with Montez specializing in Agency Leasing and Salmen focusing on Tenant Advisory + Workplace Solutions.
Montez joined Transwestern in 2018 as an office Agency Leasing broker and has worked in commercial real estate since 1988. He notably represents SPS Tower, a 655,070-square-foot Class-A office building in downtown Minneapolis, which completed 66,000 square feet of new and renewed leases in the third quarter of 2025 alone. In October 2025, SPS Commerce renewed its 200,000-square-foot lease with the building. His dedication has led to the building exceeding 75% occupancy. He has been recognized as a Twin Cities Business Top 100 People to Know in 2026 and 2023.
Salmen represents a range of local and national clients, advising them on portfolio management, real estate planning and transaction management. He is heavily involved in the local commercial real estate community and served as the Minnesota Commercial Association of Realtors (MNCAR) Board President from 2022 to 2024. In 2025, he represented Zimmerman Reed in a long-term 15,179-square-foot office renewal at IDS Center and handled a 32,000-square-foot Industrial lease for Bibliotheca in Lake Elmo. He and his team also helped Intricon consolidate three locations into long-term leases, including a 40,000-square-foot expansion, saving the client $600,000 in rent.
