Illinois Real Estate Journal and Midwest Real Estate News are hosting what is being billed as a “Tri-Housing Conference” on June 26, 2013 at the Crowne Plaza in Rosemont, Ill. The conference has been assembled to look closer at the many facets of the student, senior and multihousing market sectors from the perspective of key people in their respective specialties.
The conference will feature interviews and presentations with and by leading authorities in the housing segments, including Chris Merrill, Harrison Street Real Estate Capital; David Schwartz, Waterton Associates; Chris Huecksteadt, MetroStudy; and Gail Lissner, Appraisal Research Counselors.
In the first of two one-on-one sessions, Christopher Merrill, Co-founder and CEO, Harrison Street Real Estate Capital, one of the significant owners and/or investors in the student and senior housing sectors, will offer his perspectives on the market and how Harrison Street has created unique opportunities in the marketplace. He will be interviewed by Gail Lissner.
Later in the program, there will be David Schwartz, Founder, Waterton Associates LLC, one of the leading owners and managers of multifamily housing projects in the Midwest. He’ll give the audience his perspective on the market and an inside look at the unique opportunities his firm has created. He will be interviewed by Gail Lissner.
In between the interviews with Merrill and Schwartz will be breakout sessions. The list of speakers for each of those segments:

The program will kick-off with Chris Huecksteadt of MetroStudy presenting the demographic-rich segments of the senior, student and multifamily housing markets and providing a glimpse at where these markets have gone and their near-term outlook.
Additional elements of the conference are three breakout sessions for each of the senior, student and multihousing sectors. These sessions will provide a state of the market perspective covering design, construction, financing of and investing, among other topics.
