Tucker Development, a leading fund manager and developer of shopping centers and mixed-use properties, has signed a lease with Tesla Motors for eight Super Charging Stations at Country Club Plaza in Country Club Hills, IL. Reflecting the company’s ongoing strategy for ‘green’ development, Tucker is positioning the stations near one of the most crucial transit hubs in the Chicago/Indiana corridor.
Located at the intersection of Route 57, I-80 and I-294, Country Club Plaza represents a prime location for the eight Tesla charging stations. The addition compliments the 450,000 square foot retail center, a bustling destination for the high-traffic south suburbs of Chicago between Bloomington and South Bend, Ind.
“We’re excited to debut the new Tesla Motors Super Charging Station at Country Club Plaza, as demand for environmentally friendly development measures continues to swell,” stated Richard Tucker, president and CEO of Tucker Development. “As we continue to explore new opportunities for mixed-use development in the Chicago and New Jersey markets, sustainable initiatives are a central focus of our development strategy.”
Tesla’s Super Charging Stations enable Model S electric vehicle drivers to travel for about three hours on a single charge. Drivers can seamlessly connect their cars to the station while stopping for a meal, coffee, or shopping trip, and be back on the road in as little as 20 minutes. The service is provided free of charge.
