Tucker Development, a leading fund manager and developer of shopping centers and mixed-use properties, announced two new lease signings for its Chicago-area portfolio with ATI Physical Therapy and uBreakiFix. The new tenants, which will be located in Tucker’s Huntley and Downtown Chicago properties, respectively, each signed significant long-term leases.
ATI Physical Therapy, a national outpatient orthopedic practice, signed a 3,694 square foot lease at the landmark Huntley Grove Shopping Center, part of one of suburban Chicago’s most desirable communities. Jack Siragusa, Associate Director with Cushman & Wakefield, represented ATI in the transaction, while Tucker was represented in-house by Andy White, Director of Leasing.
uBreakiFix, an electronics maintenance store specializing in cell phone repairs, will establish its latest 800 square foot location in Tucker’s bustling South Loop Marketplace, adjacent to a Jewel-Osco and Walgreens in Downtown Chicago.
“We’re very pleased with the momentum of our retail offerings in the Chicago metro market,” said Richard Tucker, CEO of Tucker Development. “Our new leases with ATI Physical Therapy and uBreakiFix demonstrate the appeal that these properties provide to a wide range of businesses, given their strategic locations and ease of access to a broad consumer base.”
ATI Physical Therapy signed a 10-year lease at Tucker’s Huntley Grove Shopping Center in Huntley, IL. ATI, a leading provider of physical therapy with 310 locations in 11 states across the Midwest and the Eastern Seaboard, chose the Huntley location because of the suburb’s quick pace of growth and anchor retailer Walmart.
“We’re very excited to begin another lease with Tucker Development,” said Chris Orr, VP of Real Estate and Facility Development at ATI. “Our existing relationship with Tucker has been mutually beneficial and we’re grateful to be able to work with them on increasing our penetration in the Chicago market.”
Huntley is a western Chicago suburb, which saw its population increase four-fold from 2000 to 2010, making it one of the fastest growing communities in the region.
Huntley Grove is an exciting new 350,000 square foot development, which, in addition to a Wal-Mart Supercenter and ATI, includes retail homes of AutoZone and McDonald’s. Huntley Grove is conveniently located on the corner of Route 47 and Kreutzer Road approximately two miles north of Interstate 90.
uBreakiFix signed a five-year lease at Tucker’s South Loop Marketplace in heart of the Roosevelt Road Corridor in Chicago. uBreakiFix, which operates approximately 100 U.S. and international locations, selected the location at the South Loop intersection, citing the growing daytime population in the area and the abundance of surface parking at the shopping center.
South Loop Marketplace is ideally located in the heart of downtown Chicago, at the corner of Roosevelt Road and Canal Street. The 125,000 square foot shopping center, which boasts an estimated 350,000 people within a three-mile radius, is also home to Jason’s Deli and FedEx.
