Geoffrey Kasselman, executive managing director at Newmark Grubb Knight Frank‘s Chicago office, will soon be taking on another national industrial role.
Kasselman, who currently leads the national industrial practice at NGKF, has been named the new president of the Society of Industrial and Office Realtors (SIOR), beginning this fall.
His impressive industrial career spans more than 28 years and his knowledge and experience has quickly gained him recognition in several publications. Liebman holds SIOR and LEED AP designations, and most recently served as SIOR president-elect prior to his new role.
Before joining NGKF in 2014, Kasselman founded Op2mize, a commercial real estate firm that bundled real estate services with best practices in energy efficiency and technology. He worked at Studley prior to that, where he founded its Industrial Services Group and helped launch its Governmental Incentives Consulting practice.
SIOR also announced that David Liebman, managing broker at Merit Partners, will be serving his first year of a two-year term as Speaker of the Chapter Leadership Council.
For more than 27 years, Liebman has been a renowned leader in the industrial real estate industry. During stints at CBRE and Colliers International, he represented dozens of corporate and institutional owners, landlords, tenants and buyers in over 350 industrial property transactions. At Merit Partners, Liebman represents industrial tenants, buyers and investors in lease restructuring, renegotiations and renewals; property purchases; investment purchases; and select exclusive property listings.
Liebman served as the 2013 President of the SIOR Chicago chapter and has been actively involved with the organization since joining in 1998.
In 2009-2012, he served as SIOR National Membership Committee Vice-Chair and is currently SIOR’s Member-At-Large of the Membership Standards and Admissions Committee.
