Urban Innovations has formed with newly launched North Wells Capital, LLC, an endeavor that will expand its nearly 40-year-old mission as one of the innovators in quality commercial space in Chicago.
These two companies will operate as affiliates, but also allow for independence. Co-founded by Howard Conant Jr. and James Fox, North Wells will be able to utilize the resources, knowledge and experience of Urban, but operate separately.
The North Wells name is an homage to the first Urban Innovations investment made by the founding family, 444 North Wells, a property they still own today.
Co-Founder and CEO James Fox is responsible for the North Wells Capital investment strategy, acquisitions, fund-raising and financial operations. He brings with him more than 30 years of real estate and finance experience having most recently served as CFO for Home Partners of America and, prior to that, for Pearlmark Real Estate Partners.
Mike Scilingo, currently President of Urban, will assume the role of Asset Manager of North Wells Capital. This position will be getting back to his roots for Mike who came to Urban as a Commercial Asset Manager in 2000.
Joining the firm as an Associate at North Wells Capital, is Anthony Farella who will assist in the company’s transaction underwriting, due diligence and asset management. Prior to joining the company, he executed management consulting projects for commercial real estate clients at FPL Advisory Group.
