Urban Innovations promotes two senior operations executives

Urban Innovations (UI) is pleased to announce the promotion of Joi Harrell to general manager and Fabian Ratulowski, CPA, to vice president of accounting. These moves reinforce Urban Innovation’s operations and financial strategy as the company expands its property management and development portfolio in key submarkets in Chicago and Milwaukee.

In Harrell’s new role, she oversees the daily operations of UI’s portfolio of commercial properties and supervises a tight-knit team of building maintenance engineers, property managers, and administrative support team members. Harrell is also responsible for all client and tenant satisfaction. In total, her team manages in excess of one million square feet of commercial properties consisting of innovative brick-and-timber loft office structures and retail properties with modernized improvements in Chicago’s thriving River North neighborhood and Milwaukee’s ever-developing Westown.

Harrell first joined the Urban Innovations property management team in April 2016 as an assistant property manager. She is a licensed real estate broker in the State of Illinois, a Building Owners and Management Association member, and is certified by HRCI as a Professional in Human Resources (PHR) since 2014. She earned a Bachelor of Arts from Columbia College Chicago and a Master of Science from Roosevelt University’s Heller College of Business.

Since starting with Urban in 2017, Ratulowski has been responsible for directing the fiscal functions of Urban, including financial reporting and financial planning and analysis. Leveraging his experience in public accounting, he will continue improving the company’s financial strategy through capitalization of opportunities in process improvements throughout the organization.

Ratulowski received his Bachelor of Science and Master of Science in accounting from Northern Illinois University and is a licensed certified public accountant.
