Veteran CRE pro forms developer Hubbard Street Group in Chicago

Developer John McLinden has formed Hubbard Street Group, a new real estate development company focused on building world-class properties in prime Chicago locations.

McLinden moves on from Centrum Partners, the company he started years ago with Arthur Slaven. The duo will continue to run through completion the seven-plus projects currently being built under the Centrum Partners banner.

“While it’s always a difficult decision to leave something that is so familiar, I believe there are excellent opportunities ahead that our new team can capitalize on,” said McLinden. “Arthur and I have had an outstanding run and I’m proud to call him my partner and more importantly, my friend for the past 27 years. As we always have done, we will continue to work together to see our existing projects through and, moving forward, support each other’s individual efforts.”

McLinden and Slaven have been at the helm of many notable projects over the years, including The Montgomery, Domain, City Front Plaza and North Avenue Collection in Chicago. They have also developed a number of retail and residential projects in Washington, DC; San Francisco; and Boston.

Current projects include Centrum Wicker Park, Centrum Bucktown, Centrum Old Irving, Centrum Evanston, Centrum Lakeview, Hubbard221 and 412 N. Wells.
