Magellan Development Group, the developers behind Vista Tower, celebrated a significant milestone last week as crews from McHugh Construction placed the final beam, signifying its topping out. Now at a soaring height of 1,191 feet, Vista is that much closer to becoming the city’s third-tallest building and most exclusive address.
Designed by nationally renowned architect Jeanne Gang of Studio Gang, Vista Tower is on schedule for completion in 2020 after construction began in 2016. The completed tower will consist of 396 condominiums, a five-star hotel and an incomparable array of amenities, including a sky terrace with an outdoor pool, word-class spa, Tesla car-share program, golf simulator, wine-tasting room and more located at Club Vista on the 47th floor. Standing tall at 101-stories, Vista Tower will offer residents and guests breathtaking views of the river, Lake Michigan and the city from multiple vantage points.
“The topping out of Vista Tower marks a momentous occasion, not just in our construction timeline, but also in the impact that Vista Tower has on the Chicago skyline,” said David Carlins, president, Magellan Development Group. “The tower can now be seen soaring amongst other supertall buildings, exciting our homeowners, future purchasers, hotel guests and Chicagoans alike.”
Vista Tower has already received acclaim as one of the most anticipated architectural projects in the United States. Utmost consideration has been put into every detail of the project, from the selection of blue-green exterior glass to reflect the colors of Lake Michigan and the Chicago River, to the gem-inspired interior finishes of each unit. Upon completion, Vista Tower will offer residents and hotel guests the ultimate experience of luxury living.
Vista Tower is located at 363 E. Wacker Drive, at the intersection of East Wacker Drive and North Field Boulevard along the Chicago River. When complete, it will become the crown jewel of the Lakeshore East neighborhood, the award-winning, master-planned community bordered by the Chicago River, Columbus Drive, Lake Michigan and Randolph Street.
