More than 40 volunteers from the Cincinnati, Cleveland and Columbus offices of Colliers International spent an afternoon performing various tasks including cooking, cleaning, labeling and sorting food donated from grocery stores, and packing meals for those in need.
“It’s amazing to see team members from across the state working together for a common goal – bettering our community,” said chief operating officer of Colliers International in Ohio, James Garrett.
In Cincinnati, more than 20 volunteers helped to sort food and pack more than 1,500 Power Packs at the Freestore Foodbank. Power Packs are an assortment of foods handed out each Friday to local students to ensure they have something nutritious to eat on weekends. At the Cleveland Foodbank, volunteers spent the afternoon cooking, cleaning and packing food items for lunches for those in need. Fifteen volunteers in Columbus assisted with food packing and sorting at the Mid-Ohio Foodbank. Volunteers inspected food and labeled, sorted and repacked it into useable sizes for the foodbank.
