VP in CBRE’s West Des Moines office earns CRE designation

CBRE vice president Mike Macri III, in the company’s West Des Moines, Iowa, office has been awarded the CRE® designation by The Counselors of Real Estate®, an international group of high-profile real estate professionals who provide expert advisory services to clients on complex real property and land-related matters.

The credential was awarded in January 2024.

Macri joined CBRE in September 2018 and has more than 20 years of industry experience. He is responsible for nearly 2 million square feet of development projects and properties throughout Iowa and the Des Moines metropolitan area on behalf of various landlords and developers. Macri also serves as Adjunct Professor of Practice with Iowa State University College of Design’s Community and Regional Planning department where he teaches courses in real estate development for the Master of Real Estate Development program.

In addition to his work with CBRE, Macri maintains a consultative relationship with the cities of Ottumwa and Maquoketa, as well as Jackson County Economic Development. He’s also previously worked with The Garner-Hayfield-Ventura Community School District and served as Consultant for Economic Development for the cities of Pleasant Hill and DeSoto, as well as Mills County Economic Development.

Only 1,000 professionals in all disciplines of real estate hold the CRE credential in the United States and 20 additional countries. Membership is selective and extended by invitation, although commercial real estate practitioners with 10 years of proven experience may apply.
