Want to rappel down a building? Thanks to Cleveland’s Ostendorf-Morris you can … and for a good cause

Ever dreamed of rappelling down the side of a soaring office tower? Now, thanks to Cleveland’s Rosemont Realty and Ostendorf-Morris Company, you have the chance.

The two companies are supporting the Over the Edge event in which “lucky” individuals get to rappel 12 stories down the Tower East building in the Cleveland neighborhood of Shaker Heights. To get the chance to rappel, individuals must first raise $1,000 in support of Be the Match, a national non-profit that helps leukemia or other blood-cancer patients find a marrow donor and receive a life-saving transplant.

Over the Edge will take place Saturday, July 27, from 9 a.m. until 5 p.m. at 20600 Chagrin Blvd. in Cleveland. That, for those who don’t know, is the address of Tower East.

Leukemia and blood cancers are serious problems. Each year, more than 12,000 patients in the United States are diagnosed with such cancers. A marrow transplant from an unrelated donor is the best hope that these patients have for survival.

“Patients with blood cancers and their families live with the fear of the unknown on a daily basis,” said Amy Wolf-Fischer, property manager of Tower East, in a written statement. “To show them support, give them hope and encourage them in their fight against cancer, we are involving our tenants at Tower East along with our management and leasing team from Ostendorf-Morris to help raise money for Be the Match.”
