National mortgage lender Waterstone Mortgage Corporation is expanding to the Minneapolis market with a new location in the North Loop neighborhood.
Opening on March 14, the company’s newest location will be at the historic Loose Wiles building on 701 Washington Ave. North in Minneapolis. The new office will be home to five loan originators, an operations staff and commercial bankers from WaterStone Bank.
Originally constructed in 1911 as the Loose Wiles Biscuit Company Building and designed by prominent local architect Edwin H. Hewitt, the Loose Wiles building is now on the National Register of Historic Places and features original ovens from the biscuit company’s operations.
With downtown condo developments on the rise, an influx of Millennial homebuyersentering the market and the addition of a WaterStone Bank commercial lending branch in Maple Grove, Minn., downtown Minneapolis was a natural fit for a new office location.
