Weiss-Röhlig USA LLC, global freight forwarder, was officially awarded the highly prestigious achievement of LEED® Silver in their built-to-suit facility redeveloped and managed by CenterPoint Properties. This accomplishment reflects the property’s stringent faithfulness to solid green design and practices.

“Weiss-Röhlig’s LEED certification demonstrates tremendous green building leadership,” said Rick Fedrizzi, President, CEO & Founding Chair, U.S. Green Building Council. “The urgency of USGBC’s mission has challenged the industry to move faster and reach further than ever before, and Weiss-Röhlig serves as a prime example with just how much we can accomplish.”

Many leading features, such as, energy-efficient HVAC systems, motion operated light fixtures, warehouse equipped Powerfoil®X2.0 by B.A.F. Co. and construction waste recycling helped contribute to LEED certification in Weiss-Röhlig’s 87,975 SF built-to-suit facility.

“Earning LEED certification for our new headquarters further confirms the success of this redevelopment initiative,” said Mark McCullough, Vice President Operations – Western Region for Weiss-Röhlig. “Our partnership with CenterPoint has and will continue to be integral to our firm’s sustainable, long-term success.”

“We’re very proud to have earned our second LEED certification of 2014, especially for a facility located in our own backyard,” said John Lass, Vice President of Development for CenterPoint Properties. “More importantly, we’re thrilled to extend our partnership with Weiss-Röhlig and look forward to working together over the next seven years to further integrate sustainable practices into their business processes.”
