Jones Lang LaSalle announced today that Whole Foods Market has leased approximately 36,000 square feet of space at 640 N. LaSalle Street in Chicago where it will move its Midwest regional headquarters.
Melissa Rubenstein and Brian Atkinson of Jones Lang LaSalle represented the building’s owner, MAC Management Co., Inc., bringing the overall occupancy rate at the building to more than 88 percent. The seven-story building sits on one full city block between LaSalle, Ontario, Wells and Erie streets.
Jones Lang LaSalle has served as the exclusive leasing agent for the building since 2009. Spaces ranging in size from 1,100 to 17,000 square feet are available for lease.
Kevin Veon of Newmark Knight Frank represented Whole Foods in the transaction. The company is relocating its Midwest regional headquarters from a 24,000-square-foot space at 3241 N. Lincoln Avenue in the West Lakeview Neighborhood.
Whole Foods owns and operates 33 stores in its Midwest region including 17 in Illinois.
