Wight & Company, a leading Design & Delivery firm, announced it has promoted four of its senior staff members from director positions to the position of vice president/director.
Matthew Aquino, PE, SE, Director of Structural Engineering for Wight & Company, has been promoted to Vice President. Aquino has served as Director of Structural Engineering for Wight & Company since 2010 and will continue in that role. He has over 20 years of structural engineering experience with an emphasis on structural design, analysis, project coordination and project delivery. He has managed design and renovation for a wide range of assignments. His background includes educational, residential and mixed-use development work. He also has expertise working on hotels, healthcare facilities, warehouses, parking structures and municipal buildings. He earned his Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign and his Masters of Civil Engineering from Northwestern University. In addition, he holds a Graduate Certificate in Construction Management from the Illinois Institute of Technology.
Sudesh Saraf, PE, LEED AP, has been elevated to Vice President and will continue to serve as Director of MEP Engineering, a position he has held for five years. Over his 25-year career, Saraf has developed expertise in the design of MEP systems including control systems, energy analysis, life cycle cost analysis and electrical infrastructure for commercial and institutional projects. He leads an engineering group that focuses on mechanical, electrical, plumbing and fire protection services for education, laboratory, residential, municipal and corporate facilities in the Chicago metropolitan area. Saraf holds a Bachelor of Engineering degree from Regional Engineering College in India and a Master of Science in Mechanical Engineering from Illinois Institute of Technology.
Byron Wyns has also been promoted. He has been named a Vice President and will continue in the role of Director of Land Development. For more than 37 years, Wyns has helped clients address their site and development needs for recreation, education, institutional and corporate projects. He has expertise in the planning and design of athletic fields, playgrounds, parking lots and open spaces. Wyns earned his Bachelor of Science in Civil Construction Management from Southern Illinois University. Wyns expertly integrates site design, building design, rainwater solutions and landscape amenities into a land aesthetic that complements campuses, neighborhoods and communities.
Christian McNamee, LEED AP, previously Director of Special Projects, is now Wight & Company’s Vice President/Director of Special Projects. A construction industry veteran, McNamee has served as a project manager both in the public and private sectors. He is a skilled estimator, planner and scheduler with considerable experience in contract negotiations and project close-out. Earlier in his career, McNamee served as a project manager for the Public Building Commission of Chicago. His responsibilities at Wight & Company including overseeing daily operations of Job Order Contracting programs, special projects and public bid projects for Wight Construction.
