Wisconsin’s R.A. Smith National names new president

Richard A. Smith, Jr. will take over the role of president of Brookfield, Wisconsin-based engineering firm R.A. Smith National as of Jan. 1 of next year.

He will succeed current president Richard A. Smith.

Smith, Jr. has more than 15 years of experience at R.A. Smith National, which includes serving as director of the Land Development Services division overseeing operations in Brookfield; Irvine, California; and Naperville, Illinois.

Smith Jr. is a graduate of Northwestern University with a bachelor’s degree in civil engineering and economics.

Richard Smith will remain involved in the company as chief executive officer, serving in an advisory and support role.
