Kenosha, Wis.-based Riley Construction was recently selected by the Carol Stream Park District in Illinois to provide professional construction services for a new $18 million, 90,850-square-foot community recreation center, the largest construction project in the park district’s history.
The two-story facility, which will seek LEED Silver certification, will feature a gymnasium with three basketball courts, fitness and aerobics area, running track, and natatorium. The facility’s aquatics center will include an eight-lane, 25-yard competition pool with a diving board at the deep end and a second warming pool with ADA accessible entry for non-competitive swimming programs. It will also house program rooms, locker rooms, a child care center and administrative offices for the Carol Stream Park District.
Construction began this fall and will continue in spring 2012. At the height of construction, as many as 150 workers will be on site before construction concludes in early 2013.
