Woodfield Mall, one of the largest shopping destinations in the United States, announced today that it will welcome five new retailers this spring including Fly Zone at Kids Foot Locker, Flight 23 at Footaction, Eyebrow Designer 21, rue 21 and the first-in-state location for SIX:02. In addition, several existing retail and dining options including Vans, Bachrach, Red Robin and Jimmy John’s Gourmet Sandwiches, have undergone remodels and are now reopen at the center. This great news follows the recently announced style evolution at Woodfield Mall, which is now underway and will provide a more comfortable environment to shop, dine and play.
“Woodfield Mall is excited to welcome these five new retail options this spring as we undergo an exciting transformation,” said David Gott, general manager at Woodfield Mall. “These new stores will enhance our impressive roster of nearly 300 retail, dining and entertainment options, and we look forward to announcing future additions as our style evolution progresses.”
Fly Zone at Kids Foot Locker, a dedicated Nike and Jordan Brand experience inspired by many of today’s athletes, recently made its debut at the center. Kids have a chance to explore customized displays and mementos from their favorite Nike and Jordan athletes, like Lebron James, Chris Paul, Michael Jordan and more, as they shop an extensive array of basketball shoes and accessories. The store is located on the upper level in the Sears Wing near Justice & Brothers, across from the Build-A-Bear Workshop.
Flight 23 at Footaction, a Jordan Brand-only retail store, will open on the upper level in the JCPenney Wing next to Tilly’s this April. The retail experience not only pays homage to where Jordan has been, but also speaks to the brand’s vision for the future, offering shoppers the latest Michael Jordan-brand shoes and apparel.
This April, the center will also welcome Eyebrow Designer 21, a full-service salon providing a complete range of eyebrow and facial threading services, eyelash extensions and more. Shoppers can stop by the salon located on the lower level in the Nordstrom Wing.
rue21, one of the fastest growing specialty retailers, will open on the lower level in the JCPenney Wing next to New York & Company this spring. rue21 offers a broad assortment of the newest emerging fashion trends in apparel and accessories for fashion-conscious girls and guys.
The center will also welcome Illinois’ first SIX:02 location this spring. Dedicated to being the fitness destination for shoppers’ active lives, SIX:02 provides women with athletic shoes and fitness apparel that flatters as it performs, making it easy to find the perfect fit and style – however they invest in feeling and being their best. The store carries popular brands such as Nike, adidas, Under Armour, ASICS, Brooks, Mizuno and more. The store will be located on the lower level in the Nordstrom Wing near Brookstone and Microsoft.
In addition to these new retail offerings, several stores have gotten into the spirit of Woodfield Mall’s style evolution and have undergone relocations and remodels of their own. Vans has relocated to the upper level in the Sears Wing between the Build-A-Bear Workshop and The Disney Store. Bachrach, which specializes in men’s suits and accessories, has undergone a remodel and is open in its existing location on the lower level in the Nordstrom Wing near Pink. Shoppers can also take a break from shopping and grab a bite to eat at the newly renovated Red Robin, located on the lower level in the Nordstrom Wing near Panda Express, or Jimmy John’s Gourmet Sandwiches, located on the lower level in the Sears Wing near Stir Crazy.
Woodfield Mall’s style evolution to create an even better shopping experience includes a contemporary and streamlined facelift of the Grand Court with new glass railings and ceramic flooring. It will become easier to navigate the various elevations of the mall with the addition of a new large capacity elevator and two escalators, as well as the replacement of two existing elevators. Also, there will be aesthetically appealing cosmetic finishes throughout the property such as new carpet on the upper level, plush seating areas and improved interior and exterior directional signage. All work will be completed with minimal interference for shoppers. Construction is scheduled to be completed during late 2015.
