Chicago-based architectural and interior design firm, Wright Heerema Architects, has appointed Luke Heerema as the new director of business development. Heerema is a seasoned business development professional in the commercial real estate and architecture industry, with previous roles at Cresa Chicago and Interior Investments. In his new role, he is charged with leading the firm’s business development team and enhancing the firm’s pipeline of architecture and interior design work.
Heerema brings to this role more than ten years of experience in sales and business development roles in the industry. Most recently, he served as strategic accounts manager at furniture dealership Interior Investments, where he was the first dedicated marketing and business development manager to represent the firm to the brokerage community. In this role, Heerema successfully uncovered new opportunities and grew revenue substantially in his four years with the firm. Prior to that role, he was a senior advisor at Cresa Chicago, an associate at Advocate Commercial Real Estate Advisors and an account manager at Imagetec L.P.
“We’re excited for Luke to join our team and help expand our footprint throughout the Chicago area,” said Steve Wright, principal, Wright Heerema Architects. “Luke’s experience with growing businesses and his keen understanding of the industry will make a meaningful impact on our firm and the clients we serve.”
Heerema earned a bachelor of arts degree in political science from Hope College in Michigan. He is looking forward to participating in industry organizations and associations such as CoreNet Global’s Chicago Chapter, ULI and NAIOP.
