Ryan Companies names VP of healthcare real estate development

Ryan Companies US, Inc. has named Joe Fogarty Vice President of Healthcare Real Estate Development. Fogarty will be based in Nashville.

In this role, Fogarty will work closely with health systems, physician groups, healthcare providers and operators to facilitate growth strategies through creative capital solutions, real estate acquisitions, development, construction and building services. Fogarty will oversee healthcare development and operations across the seven states within the company’s Southeast region.

With over 20 years of healthcare experience, Fogarty has delivered more than 30 projects totaling over $900 million. In his previous roles, he worked on both the acquisition and development of outpatient medical facilities and was responsible for all project phases including business development, site selection, financial analysis, feasibility, due diligence, design, construction and leasing. 

Since graduating with a bachelor’s degree in construction management from Cal Poly–San Luis Obispo, Fogarty has overseen more than 2.5 million square feet of development across the country. Recent notable projects developed and completed under his leadership in the Southeast include Nashville’s $50 million Ascension Saint Thomas Midtown Campus, which hosts a 106,000-square-foot outpatient building with Orthopedics, Women’s Specialties and General Surgery, as well as Raleigh’s UNC Health’s $55 million 120,000-square-foot facility at Rex Campus, which provides dermatology, endoscopy and digestive health services.
